Chenrezi Guided Meditation

Chenrezi (or Chenrezig) is an archetypal embodiment of the enlightened essence of mind – in particular, the quality of compassion. The sadhana of Chenrezi is a meditation practice in the Vajrayana Buddhist tradition. One of the foundational transcendental archetypes from the Himalayan schools of Buddhism, Chenrezig (Tibetan) is also known as Avalokiteshvara (Sanskrit) and associated with Kannon in Japan and Guanyin in China. 

You may have heard of the mantra, Om Mani Padme Hum, associated with Chenrezi in Tibet. Students in our lineage practice the Chenrezi meditation in what is known as their Foundation Work, saying the mantra one million times to create the foundation for compassion in their being.

Meet the Teacher

Catherine Pawasarat Sensei

Catherine Pawasarat Sensei is a contemporary Dharma teacher, attendant, consort, co-teacher via Planet Dharma and co-founder of Clear Sky Retreat Center.

She trained daily with Acariya Doug Duncan from 1998 until his passing in 2024 in an intensive spiritual apprenticeship that is rare in the modern West. She received lay ordination from Namgyal Rinpoche in 2003. In addition to Buddhist philosophy and its applications to daily life, Catherine also draws on generative living and the arts.
